Private Investors Are Conquering Space

The entrepreneur Elon Musk has been keeping the world in suspense for years with his ventures and ideas. As a co-founder of PayPal, he revolutionized payment options. As the owner of Tesla, he sends himself to make electric cars competitive. But if that wasn not enough, Musk wants to conquer space with his company Space X. In 2018, the world was amazed when Space X launched a red Tesla into space. When the most massive Falcon Heavy space rocket currently took off from the American Space Centre in Cape Canaveral (Florida), half the world was there. These PR tricks attract enormous attention to the company. Now, Space X went one step further. For the first time in the history of commercial space travel, Elon Musk’s company sent a space transporter to the International Space Station.

Musk and Bezos Are Trendsetter

First of all, numerous space fans had to wait a bit. The first launch didn’t work due to unfavorable weather conditions, but the second attempt went smoothly. With the successful launch, a new era of space travel began in Florida. After all, the United States had retired its old space program years ago. The enormous cost of developing new missiles initially stopped the urge to go into space. But it seems that private investors will take on this role in the future. Elon Musk is not alone in this sphere. Jeff Bezos, founder, and CEO of Amazon is also in the process of setting up his space program Blue Origin. However, the busy Tesla boss has the lead here. The American space agency NASA contributed around three billion dollars to finance Musk’s dream of his missile. When it lifted off its ramp, the successful entrepreneur had tears in his eyes.

The Second Moon Landing starts in 2024

That marks the start of the new race to the moon and mars. The influential role of private space companies is often referred to as New Space. That should ensure the USA pioneering role in the exploration of space in the future. After all, these projects are costly. However, the first collaboration between the state and private companies was a great success, as a result, the next steps are clear. The second moon landing under the project name Artemis is already in the starting blocks and this time private companies will increasingly contribute money and know-how again. The aircraft manufacturer Boeing builds the space launch system and the astronaut capsule named Orion. The supply module ESM, in which you can find all vital orders for the crew, comes from the European aircraft manufacturer Airbus. The first uncrewed test flight will start in 2021. A little later, the first astronauts will circle the moon. In 2024 man should land on the moon again. Numerous parts are developed and financed by private investors. They hope to gain new research insights that will lead to the development of commercially attractive products. Elon Musk, on the other hand, is mentally one step ahead. Now, he is focused on the development of his Spaceship. In the future, this should be able to bring up to 100 people to the moon or even to Mars.
